Spiranthes ochroleuca, commonly known as "Yellow Ladies' Tresses “, has a limited distribution in north-eastern Canada and the United States, from Ontario to South Carolina. It produces 3 to 6 basal leaves which generally persist until flowering.
It bears an inflorescence of 60 small white, yellowish or greenish-white flowers, arranged in a spiral. The labellum is often coloured yellow in the centre. The inflorescence is covered in small hairs.
It prefers dry, open habitats and can be found in open woods, thickets, dry meadows, fields and along roadsides.
